AHP Clinical Educator

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen up for an Allied Health Professional (AHP)to join the Education and Development directorate.

This role offers a unique chance to support the education career pathway for AHP's interested in developing their teaching skills. As an AHP in this role, you will support a variety of education programs on offer within the trust, helping to make them more inclusive and accessible to all AHP's. Additionally you will also be given the opportunity to teach and support multiple programs, engage AHP students and adult learners in clinical skills and programs, support future exciting programs including simulation and other training. You will also be able to support other professional groups, to enhance their understanding of the vital role AHP's play in patient care.

Please note that this role will be cross site.

Main duties of the job

• To provide a link between the ward/departments and the Clinical Education department
• To work with the Clinical Education team to provide support and assistance to all AHP learners and staff.
• To take on the role of a workstream link within the clinical education directorate
• Working clinically alongside learners and staff to support the development of clinical skills, achievement of competencies and facilitating theory and practice links
• To assist with evaluation of training and education for learners
• To support the implementation of practice changes in response to identified corporate and patient safety issues
• To support the implementation of new projects and innovations trustwide.
• Ensure an environment conducive to learning is provided for all learners and staff
• Foster a learning environment within the ward and departmental areas, ensuring staff are provided with opportunities to develop and update their clinical expertise in the support of learners and staff
• To assist in the delivery of educational programs to meet specific training needs
• Ability to autonomously facilitate teaching for all learners within the remit of the Clinical Education team

• Current HCPC registrant
• 2 years recent clinical experience at Band 5/6
• Practice Assessor/practice educator or equivalent or working towards
• Up to date with mandatory training
