Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Activities Support Worker to join a dynamic educational setting in Poole. This role is ideal for those who enjoy fostering personal and social development in young people.

What You'll Do

• Plan and Deliver: Create and supervise a variety of creative, recreational, and educational activities tailored to students' needs and interests.
• Support and Inspire: Help students develop new skills, build confidence, and promote teamwork and collaboration.
• Create a Safe Space: Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where students feel valued and motivated.
• Collaborate: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external activity providers to deliver a high-quality program.
• Monitor and Assess: Evaluate the impact of activities, providing feedback to students and colleagues.
• Organise: Assist with the setup and organisation of activity spaces, ensuring all equipment is safe and well-maintained.
• Provide Support: Offer one-on-one or small-group support to students needing extra encouragement or assistance.
• Uphold Standards: Adhere to the school’s safeguarding policies and ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Previous experience in organising or delivering activities for children or young people, ideally within an educational or recreational setting.
• Creativity and Enthusiasm: A passion for working with young people and the ability to engage them effectively.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to connect with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
• Adaptability: Ability to tailor activities to suit a range of abilities and learning styles.
• Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety principles.
• Positive Attitude: Patience, resilience, and a positive approach to supporting students’ development.
  
  

Requirements

• Right to Work: Must have the right to work in the UK.
• References: An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• DBS Check: An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
