Coeliac UK currently has an exciting opportunity for a Accounts Assistant, to join our team hybrid working, including on site at Coeliac UK Head Office, High Wycombe. You will join us on a part time (21 hours per week) permanent basis. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £28,305 (pro-rated) per annum.

For over 50 years we've been helping people with coeliac disease and other gluten related conditions live happier, healthier lives. We do this by striving for better gluten free food in more places, providing independent, trustworthy advice and support to our community, and funding crucial research to not only manage the impacts of gluten, but also find the answers to coeliac disease. And we do it all so that one day, no one's life will be limited by gluten.

The Accounts Assistant role:

Coeliac UK is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance and Support Services department. As Accounts Assistant, you will demonstrate a commitment to the vision of Coeliac UK, providing day-to-day accounting support to colleagues and external partners. You will have strong financial management and administration skills, good written and oral communications skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:

Ensure supplier payments, expense claims and grants to partners are correctly approved and coded.

Manage the payments process, including setting up payments (UK and foreign) on the electronic banking system.

Record income and expenditure onto Finance System

Download the bank statements and reconcile with the CRM reports daily.

Maintaining the prepayments schedule and associated journals

Assist with Sales ledger tasks from setting up new customer to credit control.

Assist in preparation of the monthly management accounts and year end accounts, audit preparation and analysis.

Resolve finance queries and requests from budget holders, suppliers, groups and volunteers.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the Accounts Assistant:

Coeliac UK is looking for an ambitious and tenacious individual who is keen to develop their financial knowledge and understanding, using their expertise to support our financial processes. They will have an excellent eye for detail and enjoy working in a team. If this sounds like you, and you meet the following requirements, then we would love to hear from you,

AAT Certificate/Foundation Level or equivalent work experience

Charity sector work experience desirable

Excellent time management skills and working to deadlines
